Germany to play Switzerland in last match before the World Cup

Germany will face Switzerland in their last international match ahead of the World Cup in Canada. Silvia Neid’s team will play against the Swiss side, who have qualified for the World Cup for the first time in their history, on the 27th May (17:00 CEST) in Baden. The game will take place on artificial turf, which is the same surface that the entire tournament will be played on in summer.

The DFB Women’s team begin their preparation for the World Cup in Switzerland on the 18th May. Silvia Neid will then name her squad, containing 20 outfield players and three goalkeepers, on the 24th May. The members of the DFB delegation will then return to their hometowns after the clash with former Germany international Martina Voss-Tecklenburg’s team, before flying from Frankfurt am Main to Ottawa on the 31st May.

Ottawa is the location for Germany’s first two group games. The team come up against the Ivory Coast on the 7th June (22:00 CEST), before meeting Norway on the 11th June (22:00 CEST). The final group game takes place in Winnipeg against Thailand on the 15th June (22:00 CEST).
