Germany to play England at Wembley on 19 November

Germany will contest their last international match of the year against England at London’s Wembley Stadium on Tuesday 19 November 2013, a match made possible by the fact that both teams have qualified directly for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

England defeated Poland 2-0 on Tuesday to qualify as Group H winners, whilst Germany booked their ticket to Brazil in the previous round of matches with victory over Republic of Ireland.

Joachim Löw’s team have now finalised their plans for the year, having already confirmed their penultimate match of 2013. They will play Italy in Milan on Friday 15 November 2013.

Germany have played England on 32 previous occasions, with 11 wins, six draws and 15 defeats to their name. Their most recent encounter took place in the Round of 16 of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, when Germany beat England 4-1 in Bloemfontein.
