Germany third in world rankings

Germany have dropped from second in the FIFA world rankings to third in November. Joachim Löw’s side currently have 1433 points, after taking into account their 8-0 win over San Marino in World Cup qualification and the 0-0 friendly with Italy.

Brazil have moved up to second ahead of Germany with 1544 points, after putting in some dominant performances in World Cup qualification. Their arch rivals Argentina top the rankings with 1634 points. Chile have risen to fourth place with 1404 points ahead of Belgium, who are the second-highest European team.

The Team of the Year (the side that finishes top of the rankings at the end of the year), as well as the Most improved Team of the Year (the team that has collected the highest number of points during the year), will both be announced when the final rankings for 2016 are released on 22nd December.
