Germany remain third in FIFA world rankings

The Germany national football team have finished the year in third place in the FIFA World rankings. Joachim Löw’s side currently sit on 1433 points behind second placed Brazil (1544 points) and leaders Argentina (1634 points).

Argentina have been named the Team of the year for finishing top of the rankings. Edgardo Bauza’s side have picked up the ninth most points since December of last year. EURO 2016 runners-up France are the the year's high flyers, as they picked up the most number of points over the course of the last twelve months. “Les Blues” have suffered just one defeat in their 17 games this year, with that solitary loss coming in the final of the last summer’s European Championship against Portugal. Copa America winners Chile occupy fourth place in the standings with 1404 points.

Since there have only been 15 international games since November, the current table has seen hardly any shifts in position. The order of the teams in the top ten has remained the same since the previous month.
