Germany national futsal team draw 3-3 with England

Germany’s new national futsal team only just missed out on celebrating their second win against England. Germany were so close to winning but England managed to score an equaliser in the last minute to end the match as a 3-3 draw. Daniel Fredel, Timo Di Giorgio and Stefan Winkel scored the goals for Germany in their second match in DFB history.

”Football is so dramatic nowadays,” said Schomann after the match. “But we are all still pleased. The team gave it their all and put on a very good performance.”

Fredel and Di Giorgio put Germany in the lead

Germany knew that England would be seeking revenge after beating them 5-3 last Sunday in their first ever futsal match. “That was a different match. We still have to step up our game,” said Schomann before kick-off. His team started well just like England expected them to. But the ‘Three Lions’ took the lead after two minutes through Robert Bettson.

It didn’t take Germany long to respond. Adam Fiedler just missed in the 2nd minute, but Daniel Fredel managed to score the equaliser just minutes later. It was an even match played at a high tempo and both teams had plenty of chances on goal. Germany made an attack on the counter and took the lead through Timo Di Giorgio in the 16th minute.

Last-minute equaliser

It was still an even match in the second half. England had a lot of goal scoring opportunities at the beginning of the half and Raoni Medina tapped the ball into the goal in the 30th minute.

Germany responded quickly again. The England keeper couldn’t do anything to stop Stefan Winkel’s low shot from going in. 3-2 to Germany. But again, Germany gave away this lead. Maximilian Kilman scored for England just 16 seconds before the referee blew for the final whistle.
