Germany lose against Norway

In their final pre-tournament test game prior to the Olympic Games in Beijing Germany lose 0-2 (0-1) against Norway. Marie and Guno Knutsen (42./74.) scored for the Scandinavian team.

The two powerhouses in international women’s football have now faced each other in 31 games. In the head-to-head now both teams have 13 wins and there are also five ties.

Germany beat England 3-0 (1-0) last Thursday in Unterhaching, with Sandra Smisek, Birgit Prinz and Melanie Behringer scoring the goals. Following this convincing demonstration of football skills, Neid nominated a group of 18 players to battle for Olympic medals. One week following the Norway-game, on July 30, the German team travels to the Chinese metropolis of Shenyang, where the two-time World Champions will play two of their games during the group stage of the Olympic football tournament, on August 6 against Brazil and on August 9 against Nigeria.
