Germany fifth in FIFA World Ranking

Die Mannschaft have dropped one place to fifth in April’s FIFA World Ranking. The World Champions are now above European Champions Spain, who have fallen from third to sixth.

There are changes at the top of the rankings as well, as World Cup runners-up Argentina overtake Belgium to claim first place, demoting Belgium to second, while Chile have climbed from fifth to third. Columbia have also moved up four places into fourth. Uruguay have broken into the top ten in ninth place, a jump of two spots, at the expense of Austria, who have moved down to eleventh. All of the teams in Germany’s group for the European Championship gained ground; Ukraine have jumped five places to 22nd, Northern Ireland are now 26th after moving up two spots and Poland have climbed from 31st to 27th.

The next edition of the FIFA World Ranking will be released on the 5th May 2016.
