Germany draw in Denmark after 2-0 lead

In their first match after the World Cup the German national team drew 2-2 (1-0) against hosts Denmark in Copenhague on Wednesday after leading 2-0.

In a match with lots of scoring chances, mario Gomez opened the score for Germany after a wonderful pass by Thomas Hitzlsperger after 19 minutes. Denmark had their possibilities too, missing their best after 56 minutes, when Daniel Agger hit the post from close range.

Aaron Hunt copied the Danish skipper in minute 60, goalie Thomas Sörensen deflecting his shot from 20 metres to the post. 13 minutes later Patrick Helmes made it 2-0 with just his second touch of the ball .

But the Danes came back successfully with Dennis Rommedahl cutting the lead to one (74th) and Mads Junker netted in the equalizer three minutes from time.
