German Women beat Ireland 3-0 in World Cup qualifier

The German Women's National Team have kept a clean sheet in their World Cup qualifying campaign by winning 3-0 (3-0) against the Republic of Ireland at Dublin's Richmond Park.

Petra Wimbersky finished up the first dangerous attack of the ruling World and European champion by scoring the 1-0 after just two minutes. Birgit Prinz added a second in her 150th cap for the German Football Associatoon (DFB) in the 16th minute. Kerstin Garefrekes rounded the result up by scoring the third German goal in the 45th minute. Conny Pohlers missed her chance to add a fourth goal from the penalty spot in the 88th, when Irish goalkeeper Emma Byrne denied her.
