Titleholders Germany lost their opener to the Under 20 Women's World Championship in Russia 0-2 (0-1) to the People's Republic of Korea.
In Moscow the Asians worked brilliantly in defence and stinged their German counterpart with steady counter attacks. Germany controlled most of the match, but wasn't able to score, while the Koreans were on target by Pok Jui Hong after 35 minutes. Yun Mi Jo doubled the lead after 70 minutes.
