German international Kroos completes move to Real Madrid

World Cup winner Toni Kroos has completed his transfer from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid. As the record-breaking German champions confirmed on Thursday, the 24-year-old midfielder will play for the Champions League winners in the Spanish capital with immediate effect.

According to reports from his new club, Kroos’s contract with Real runs until 2020. “We would like to thank Toni Kroos for his time in Munich,” said Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “We’ve achieved great success with him here. We wish him and his family all the best in Madrid and with Real.” He is the ninth German international to join Real after Günter Netzer, Paul Breitner, Uli Stielike, Bernd Schuster, Bodo Illgner, Christoph Metzelder, Mesut Özil and Sami Khedira.
