German expertise on show at IT Congress in Madrid

The German FA (DFB) is one of around 40 football associations attending Football and Technology, a four-day congress in Madrid organised by the Spanish FA and starting on Wednesday 8 February 2012.

As part of the programme at the host association’s Ciudad Deportiva headquarters, the delegation headed by DFB Media CEO Kurt Gärtner will stage presentations on “DFBnet – the IT Solution for Clubs and Associations” and “DFB-Wirtschaftsdienste (Commercial Services) Consulting & Sales Services – Know-How Made in Germany”. DFB Media and DFB-Wirtschaftsdienste will also share a stand at the Planet International exhibition.

The keynote speakers at the Football and Technology Congress are Spain’s FIFA World Cup winning coach Vicente del Bosque, former FC Liverpool und Inter Milan manager Rafael Benitez, as well as Spanish FA president Angel Villar.

“We very much welcome the Spanish association’s initiative. Football and technology is a hot topic at present, and we’d like to contribute to the implementation of effective IT solutions for associations and clubs by sharing our know-how and expertise. DFBnet has already proved its worth as a very attractive solution for football associations all over the world,” commented DFB-Wirtschaftsdienste CEO Ulrich Wolter.

“Alongside our IT services, there is also great interest in German expertise in the areas of event organisation, sporting infrastructure and sustainability, not least due to the 2006 FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011,” continued Wolter.
