Because of the second leg in the finals of the UEFA-Cup German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel is going to visit the DFB on saturday. Before the match between 1. FFC Frankfurt and 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam DFB-President Dr. Theo Zwanziger and the General Secretary of the DFB, Horst R. Schmidt, will welcome the Chancellor. After this Merkel is going to visit the match and honour the winning side.
As well Merkel will take part on a press conference titled "Integration by sports, especially football", in which the new President of the DOSB an Vice President of the IOC, Dr. Thomas Bach, ist also involved.
Dr. Theo Zwanziger said: "I'm glad to able to welcome the Chancellor at the DFB. Angela Merkel showed in her short term of office her nearness to football, especially to women's and girl's football, for several times. For this support I'm very thankful."
