Frontzeck appointed new Hannover 96 manager

Michael Frontzeck has been given the task of trying to save Hannover 96 from relegation. The 51-year-old was appointed as Tayfun Korkut’s successor on Monday and will take charge of the Niedersachsen club for the first time on Saturday against 1899 Hoffenheim. Frontzeck has signed a contract until the end of the season.

“We have appointed Michael Frontzeck as our new manager because we believe that he can keep us up. The aim for the remainder of the season is to keep Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga,” explained 96 President Martin Kind.

Frontzeck has already worked at Hannover 96 back in the 2004/05 season as assistant manager to Ewald Lienen. He has previously managed Alemannia Aachen, Arminia Bielefeld, Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC St. Pauli.
