From the ocean to the pitch: the new Germany training kit

Ahead of today’s international friendly against Spain in Düsseldorf (KO 20:45 CET), Jonas Hector and Co. will warm up in a pre-match jersey which is the result of kit manufacturer adidas’ collaboration with “Parley for the Oceans”. The initiative stands for the protection of the oceans and has already worked with adidas to create several performance products in the past. The product should raise awareness for the critical state of the planet’s oceans.

The jerseys are made from Parley Ocean Plastic™ - yarns and fibres which have been produced from recycled and reused plastic waste. The waste has been collected from beaches and coast regions in the Maldives before it could reach the sea. Thanks to adidas’ Climalite technology, the shirts sweep away moisture. The pattern on the front on the shirt’s front with black and white boxes weaving in and out of each other is a first and results in a stark contrast. The jersey is black on the collar and sleeves. The shirt is now available in the DFB fan shop, from adidas and in specialist shops.
