Franz Beckenbauer returns to Presidium

A member of the FIFA Executive Committee, Franz Beckenbauer returned to the DFB Presidium on Friday. The members appointed Beckenbauer as a representative for international assignments. Beckenbauer, who has won a World Cup as a player in 1974 and as the German team manager in 1990, had been an automatic member of the executive board of the DFB between September 2000 and March 2007, a period when he was President of the Local Organising Committee for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

The DFB Presidium is now made up of the following members

  • The President Dr. Theo Zwanziger and the Treasurer Horst R. Schmidt
  • The Acting League President Dr. Reinhard Rauball and the Representative for Amateur Football Hermann Korfmacher

Nine additional vice-presidents

  • The Chairman of the German Football League (DFL) Executive Christian Seifert
  • The Acting Vice-Presidents of the League Association Peter Peters and Harald Strutz
  • The Vice-President for the Future Development of Football Dr. Hans Georg Moldenhauer
