‘Footballer of the Year’ – Ten World Cup winners nominated

There are numerous candidates for this year’s Fan Club national Footballer of the Year 2015 powered by Coca-Cola. There are also many arguments for each individual player, and for that reason your opinion is required. Vote for who you think should win the award before the 14th January 2016, at 12:00 CET.

Players who have appeared in at least five of the nine total international matches in 2015 have been nominated - 13 in total. Jonas Hector played the most minutes, appearing in all nine matches for a total of 754 out of 810 minutes.

Ilkay Gündogan (548 minutes) and Mesut Özil (720), the Footballer of the Year in 2011, 2012 and 2013, both played eight matches each. André Schürrle (311), Mario Götze (479) and Jerome Boateng (586) have all pulled on the DFB kit seven times in the past 12 months. Bastian Schweinsteiger (495), who won the award in 2010, Manuel Neuer (540), Thomas Müller (536), Mats Hummels (540) and Karim Bellarabi (239) can all boast six appearances. Toni Kroos (450) and Lukas Podolski (102) make up the rest of the list, with five appearances each under their belt.
