Five game ban and fine for Schalke’s Geis

The German Football Association (DFB) have handed out a 15,000 euro fine and a five-match ban to Schalke’s Johannes Geis after a retrospective inquiry carried out by the DFB disciplinary board. The ban covers all competitive matches, including Bundesliga and DFB Cup.

Geis was shown a red card by referee Wolfgang Stark in the 80th minute of the Bundesliga match between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Schalke 04 on the 25th October 2015.

The club and the player have accepted the ruling, making the matter final.
