Final training session before the round of 16 will still take place in Évian

"We have ideal training facilities here in Évian, and feel very comfortable here. We are already familiar with the stadium in Lille after our group game against Ukraine”, says national coach Joachim Löw. "The fact that we will complete our final training session here, instead of in Lille, will not be a disadvantage." UEFA informed round of 16 opponents Germany and Slovakia today, that their planned training sessions at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Saturday afternoon have been cancelled. Because of problems with the pitch, UEFA were forced to relay new turf after the group match between Italy and Ireland.

Die Mannschaft will now hold their final session at 11:00 CEST on Saturday in Évian, and will begin their journey to Northern France at around 16:00 CEST. However, the final press conference will go ahead in the stadium, as planned. This has been scheduled by UEFA for 19:45 CEST. The initial plan was for Germany to travel to Lille at 09:00 CEST on Saturday morning, where Germany will face Slovakia in the round of 16 on Sunday (18:00 CEST, live on ZDF and Fan-Club-Radio).
