FC Bayern take the next step towards double

German Champion Bayern München has qualified for the German Cup final for the 19th time in their history and has kept their chances for the national double alive after thrashing VfL Wolfsburg 6-1 (2-1) in the first semi final.

After a beautiful setup by Xherdan Shaqiri and Arjen Robben Mario Mandzukic opened the score after 17 minutes. Arjen Robben doubled the lead ten minute from half time (35th).

Wolfsburg cut their deficit shortly before the break by a wonderful shot from Diego (45th), but the sensational Shaqiri made it 3-1 after 50 minutes. The Swiss international had his third assist ten minutes from time, when he set up Mario Gomez' first strike (80st). The German international completed his hat-trick in six minutes afterwards (83rd, 86th).
