The Women’s World Cup is over and now all of the loose ends have been tied up. The “Player of the Tournament” has now been named by the national team’s fan club, powered by Coca-Cola. DFB.de users voted 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam’s Tabea Kemme as the player they thought performed best in Canada.
The 11 players who picked up the most minutes were available for selection and Kemme came out on top, ahead of Nadine Angerer and Melanie Leupolz. She was also voted the “Player of the Match” after the USA clash in the semis.
The 23-year-old picked up 2,103 votes (6,022 were cast, which equates to 34.9% of all selections). Angerer received 15.5%; Leupolz received 10.2%.
