European Champion Mukhtar will lead the U20 squad

U19 European Championship winner and U20 World Cup player Hany Mukhtar will lead out the Germany U20 national side for two away games to begin the traditional European round robin tournament: On 3rd September, (16:00 CEST) Germany will face Italy in Lucca, before taking on Poland on 7th September (17:00 CEST) in Wloclawek. DFB-Team manager Frank Wormuth has nominated a total of 23 players, as well as an extra twelve being on call.

Alongside Benfica player Mukhtar, the Germany U20 squad boasts a number of Bundesliga players, including defender Marvin Schulz (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Midfielders Mahmoud Dahoud (also of Gladbach) and Maximilian Eggestein (Werder Bremen), as well as strikers Nadiem Amiri (1899 Hoffenheim) and Luca Waldschmidt (Eintracht Frankfurt).

The international round-robin tournament consists of six games for Germany U20s, including home and away legs and will run until the end of the 2015/16 season. The fourth country taking part in the round-robin tournament is Switzerland. From 7th – 13th October, Germany will host the Mercedes-Benz Elite-Cup, in which England, the Netherlands and Turkey will also compete.
