EURO newcomers Wales into semi-finals after 3-1 win over Belgium

Wales celebrated the biggest success in their history and at the same time shattered the dreams of a golden generation. Led by Gareth Bale, Wales secured a surprise 3-1 victory over Belgium in a thrilling quarterfinal encounter on Friday evening. Having secured their place amongst Europe's top four, Wales are now set to face Portugal on Wednesday in the semi-finals, where Bale will be up against his Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Belgium took the lead after a thunderous 25-yard strike from Radja Nainngolan, but Ashley Williams’ header from a corner levelled the scores at the break. Then an ingenious turn and finish from Hal Robson-Kanu and finally a Sam Vokes header earned the debutants their place in the next round.

However, Wales will have to find a replacement Aaron Ramsey, who was a pivotal figure in their quarterfinal victory but is now suspended after picking up a second yellow card. The same applies to defender Ben Davies.
