EURO 2017 qualification: U19s and U17s oppositions confirmed

The Germany U19 team will meet Slovakia, Serbia and Cyprus in the second qualification round for EURO 2017. The draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland. The four-team battle will be completed by 28th May 2017 – the host is yet to be confirmed.

Seven groups were drawn, and only the winners will qualify for the European Championships in Gerogia, while Georgia themselves have already qualified. The final stages will take place between the 2nd and 15th July 2017.

U19s to face Poland, Northern Ireland and Belarus

The draw for the first qualification round of the U19 European Championship has taken place. Head coach Frank Kramer’s team will face Poland, Northern Ireland and Belarus in Group 2. The group matches will be played out next autumn until 19th November 2017.

The top two teams in each of the thirteen groups will join Spain and Portugal in the elite round of the competition in early 2018. The seven group winners of this elite round will qualify for the European Championship finals in Finland in 2018.

U17s given interesting group

Along with the U19s, the U17s team now also know who they must face along the way to Euro 2017 in Croatia. DFB coach Christian Wück’s side, who were given a bye in the first round of the competition, will face Turkey, Finland and Armenia in group 1. The host for the mini-tournament is yet to be revealed. Matches must be played by 2nd April, whereby the eight group winners as well as the seven best second-placed teams will go through, with the hosts, to the tournament finals. The DFB delegation were able to relax and await the fourth draw of the day for the 2018 U17s European Championships in England, sitting alongside champions Portugal. DFB will be at the finals in the spring of 2018 for the first time.
