Euro 2016 qualifiers: DFB agree player bonuses

The DFB have agreed a performance and results-based bonus structure with the players for the current EURO 2016 qualifiers. Only if Germany qualify for the tournament will each player then receive €20,000 per call-up.

The bonus structure is exactly the same as the one that was put in place for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The agreement was met after talks between DFB general secretary Helmut Sandrock, captain Bastian Schweinsteiger and the first-team players council.

“It shows once again the relationship of trust between the players and the DFB,” said DFB president Wolfgang Niersbach. “It speaks volumes for that team that they only want a bonus if they are successful and the amount remains the same, despite winning the World Cup in Brazil.”
