Duisburg thrash Potsdam to win their second DFB Cup

FCR 2001 Duisburg have crowned themselves titleholders of the DFB Cup Women for the first time since 1998 after thrashing 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam 7-0 (2-0) in front of 20.000 fans in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Saturday. I was the second title of the season for the team of coach Martina Voss, after they celebrated their win of the UEFA Women's Cup against Russian side Zvezda Perm just one week earlier.

National player Inka Grings (54, 86) and Annemieke Kiesel (37, 47) each scored twice and Fatmire Bajramaj (28), Femke Maes (50) and Alexandra Popp (90) contributed three more goals as Duisburg cruised to a score never seen before in a German Women's Cup Final.

"This leaves me speechless", uttered Duisburg coach Voss, "When two of the best teams face each other and you win 7-0, it's far from being real. We made an extraordinary match and now we're just so proud".
