Draxler and Schürrle score in friendly

Preparation for the second half of the season is in full flow; the training camps are complete, the friendlies planned and training under way. Who is playing when? DFB.de has summarised the most important matches.

VFL WOLFSBURG: DFB Cup winners VfL Wolfsburg were made to work hard in the final friendly match before the start of the Bundesliga this weekend. The Wolves defeated third-division side Chemnitzer FC 3-2, and can now look forward to the away match at Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.

Julian Draxler, André Schürrle and Daniel Caligiuri all scored goals, which will fill them with confidence going into the business end of the season.

VFB STUTTGART: Relegation-threatened VfB Stuttgart had a less successful result, losing against third-league Würzburger Kickers 2-1 in the final minute. Ukranian Artem Krawez scored his first goal for the club - an equaliser for the Bundeliga side in the 74th minute, but Amir Shapourzadeh popped up to score the winner in added time.

Their other new arrival, Kevin Großkreutz, defended well at right back, and was subbed off in the 60th minute. Stuttgart face 1. FC Köln away on Saturday in the Bundesliga.

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT: Eintracht Frankfurt will be hoping for plenty of goals from new signing Marco Fabian. The 26-year-old Mexican bagged a brace in the final rehearsal ahead of the Bundesliga meeting with VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.

Despite these two goals, Frankfurt were not able to get the win, drawing 3-3 against Eintracht Braunschweig.

1899 HOFFENHEIM: 1899 Hoffenheim will have wind in their sails going into the next crucial phase of the season. The last-placed side in the Bundesliga defeated Austrian first-division side Sturm Graz 3-1.
