Die Mannschaft say "Merci, France"

The European Championship in France is over. The World Champions spent 32 days training in Évian and playing at stadiums in Lille, St. Denis, Paris, Bordeaux and Marseille. The team has said farewell by thanking the hosts France with a full page display in French sports magazine "L’Equipe".

The design is simple but nevertheless effective. It shows the Germany starting XI for the team’s semi-final loss in the Stade Vélodrome with the DFB and Germany football team logos along with the text “Merci, la France, pour votre hospitalité.” Thank you for your hospitality, France.

“We have felt happy, safe and fully welcome from the first day,” said captain Bastian Schweinsteiger: “We had the best possible conditions in Evian. We were able to concentrate and train intensely as well as relax in peace and recover where we were staying. France have been amazing hosts for the European Championship.“ DFB president Reinhard Grindel agreed: “The DFB would like to say thank you to the French people for their wonderful hospitality and to the security forces for their good work.”
