DFB Women's team record thumping 7-0 victory over Turkey

Germany's women's national team took their next step towards qualifying for the European Championship. Silvia Neid's team recorded a comfortable 7-0 victory over Turkey on Sunday and lead Group 5 with a perfect record of four wins from as many games, having scored 22 goals and conceding none in the process.

"I thought that our game in the first half was a bit too complicated. It's very difficult to play against teams like Turkey, but I liked the fact that my team continued to look for solutions," Neid summarised after the game.

In front of 6,734 spectators in Sandhausen, the Germany women's team looked to take charge of the encounter from the very first whistle. Germany charged forward time and time again and it didn't take long for Mandy Islacker to open the scoring six minutes into the game. The hosts continued to apply pressure and created numerous chances before Anja Mittag doubled their lead on 26 minutes - her 39th goal for Germany on her 131st appearance.

Däbritz and Magull score two goals each

Germany were awarded a penalty 15 minutes before half time when Yagmur Uraz brought down Mittag in the area. Melanie Behringer converted from the spot to make it 3-0.

After the break, Germany needed ten minutes to find their rhythm again. Sara Däbritz and substitute Lina Magull bagged two goals each to hand Germany a fully deserved 7-0 victory.
