DFB Women to get their fifth win in five against Turkey?

With twelve points from their first four games, 22 goals scored and none conceded, the Germany women’s national team are well on the way to the European Championships 2017. Their next qualifier for the finals in the Netherlands is tonight as the national women travel to Istanbul to face Turkey (kick-off 16:00 CEST). The next game is on Tuesday against Croatia. Silvia Neid said that their "goal is to get six points from the two games".

"It must be clear to every player that you have to give 100 percent and stay focused to take the fight out of teams like these," said the coach. "It’s all about getting the right line-up and being cautious in the 50-50 challenges. We need the right attitude going into the games too. Our opponents will be very up for it."

Däbritz: "We want the points, no question"

Lena Goeßling of VfL Wolfsburg and Melanie Behringer, two defensive regulars for Germany, will miss out on the game due to injury.

The women’s national team have a good record against Turkey, winning in all four of their previous four encounters, the most recent of which was an incredible 7-0 victory at the end of last year. After the game in Istanbul, the squad will return to Germany immediately where they will begin preparation for their next game.
