DFB women thrash Switzerland in qualifyer

19 days before the start of the World Cup in China Germany's National Team tested successfully by beating Switzerland in an EC-qualifier in Koblenz 7-0 (4-0). The reigning World and European Champion has now nine points out of his first three qualifiers in Group 4.

In front of 11.280 spectators in Stadium Oberwerth Melanie Behringer (16./35.), Sandra Smisek (14.), Birgit Prinz (33.) and Kerstin Garefrekes with a hat-trick (53./64./90.) sealed the clear victory and opened the celebrations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the first Women's international in Germany.

The DFB had invited many former national players to Koblenz. Following the game, the DFB hosted a festive gala diner to commemorate the anniversary.
