The announcement of the DFB’s Olympic squads for the Olympic games in Rio (3rd until 20th August) has been pushed back by a day. The women’s team and and the men’s Olympic team will be presented on Friday.
DFB sporting director Hansi Flick explained: “There have been a countless number of calls and conversations taking place in order for us to try and send the best squad possible to the Olympics in Brazil. I want the best possible solution for the DFB and to co-ordinate our decision closely with the players and the clubs. That’s why me and head coach Horst Hrubesch have arranged to announce the men’s Olympic squad at 12:00 CEST tomorrow.”
The women’s and men’ Olympic teams are supposed to be announced at the same time, therefore the women’s squad will also be presented tomorrow at 12:00 CEST.
