DFB-Pokal semi-final dates announced

The two DFB-Pokal semi-final dates have been determined. Borussia Mönchengladbach face Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday, 25th April, whilst FC Bayern take on Borussia Dortmund a day later on Wednesday, 26th April. Both games kick off at 20:45 CEST.

Munich will be the scene of the sixth consecutive DFB-Pokal duel between the two heavyweights. FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund have encountered one another in every DFB-Pokal since 2012. Last year saw Bayern triumph in the final by winning 4-3 on penalties. In addition, overall results favour München, who have won the DFB-Pokal a record number of times: They have claimed six victories in nine matchups, whilst Dortmund have defeated them three times.

Not to be forgotten, Mönchengladbach versus Frankfurt is a historical DFB-Pokal contest, having met each other four times in the DFB-Pokal. The most recent game finished in favour of Gladbach 2-1, and took place in the second round of the 2014/5 season. When they have faced each other in the DFB-Pokal, Mönchengladbach have the upper-hand with a total of three wins, to Frankfurt’s one.
