DFB gives €1.5m to charitable foundations

The DFB decided to increase the financial support they give to charitable organisations by €500,000 at a meeting in Frankfurt am Main. The money comes from 2014’s surplus. This means that they will distribute a total of €1,500,000.

The DFB had already decided in November 2014 to spend more than €1,000,000. Half was given to the Bundesliga foundation, the Robert Enke foundation received €100,000. €70,000 was awarded to the Egidius Braun foudnndation, the Sepp Herberger foundation, the Fitz Walter foundation and the DFB’s cultural foundation. The remaining €120,000 was equally split between the Uwe Seeler and Franz Beckenbauer foundations.

The €500,000 will be distributed in the following way: The Bundesliga foundation will received €250,000. The Sepp Herberger foundation and the Egidius Braun foundation will each received €95,000. The Fritz Walter foundation, the Uwe Seeler foundation and the FranzB eckenbauer foundation will all receive €20,000.

Reinhard Grindel said: “We take our responsibility seriously. Consequently, we’re delighted to be increasing our financial support for a number of foundations. Every Euro will be spent in a meaningful manner.”
