DFB Cup first round fixtures: Gladbach to play St Pauli on Monday night

FC St. Pauli and Borussia Mönchengladbach will face each other on the evening of Monday, 10th August (20:30 CEST) in the highlight fixture of the first round, after the DFB, TV broadcasters and safety authorities came to an agreement on the exact scheduling for the fixtures that were announced on Friday.

The first round will kick off on Friday, 7th August from 19:00 CEST with the match between Nordost-Regionalliga side BFC Dynamo and FSV Frankfurt from the second division. At the same time, newly promoted Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98 travel to Regionalliga West side TuS Erndtebrück. At 20:00 CEST, Europa League participants FC Augsburg will play at SV Elversberg.

The next day on Saturday, 8th August, eight more Bundesliga teams are in action at 15:30 CEST, including holders VfL Wolfsburg away at third division side Stuttgarter Kickers, 1. FC Köln at Regionalliga side SV Meppen, as well as Schalke 04 versus MSV Duisburg in a rematch of the 2011 final. At 18:00 CEST 1860 München face 1899 Hoffenheim, before Saturday’s cup feast is wrapped up by SSV Reutlingen versus Karlsruher SV and Holsten Kiel against VfB Stuttgart.

Record cup winners and 2015 finalists in action on Sunday

On Sunday there are further 13 fixtures to look forward to, including five Bundesliga sides. Record winners Bayern München are clear favourites away at recently relegated Regionalliga side FC Nöttingen (16:00 CEST), whilst last season’s runner up Borussia Dortmund face third division side Chemnitzer FC (14:00 CEST). The final game of the day takes place at 20:30 CEST between Energie Cottbus and FSV Mainz 05.
