Destination Tórshavn via Kamen and Essen

The Germany U21 national side meet up today at the SportCentrum Kamen-Kaiserau to prepare for their upcoming qualifiers for the 2017 European U21 Championship in Poland. On Friday, Horst Hrubesch's side will take on Finland in Essen before travelling to Tórshavn to play the Faroe Islands on Tuesday 13th October.

Following Friday's game, the team will train in Germany for two more days before flying to the Faroe Islands on Monday. They will then fly home the evening after the game, arriving in Frankfurt on the morning of Wednesday 14th October.

The gifted side, featuring captain Leon Goretzka, Max Meyer (both FC Schalke 04) and Joshua Kimmich (FC Bayern München), are on the hunt for their next three points following their 3-0 win over Azerbaijan in their opening game. "Finland have taken six points from two games and lead the way in the group, so it'll be an indicator for us of where we're at," said Hrubesch. "We want to win the group, and for that we need to take both games seriously."
