The DFB have confirmed the dates and times for the DFB Cup first-round ties in the 2017/18 season. The first-round ties will take place between Friday, 11th August and Monday, 14th August.
Last season’s winners Borussia Dortmund will face FC Rielasingen Arlen in the first round on Saturday, 12th August at 15:30 CEST. Record Champions FC Bayern München will host third division side Chemnitzer FC at the same time. League runners-up RB Leipzig will face Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen on Sunday, 13th August at 15:30 CEST. Three-time DFB Cup winners Borussia Mönchengladbach will face Rot-Weis Essen under the floodlights on Friday, 11th August at 20:45 CEST.
Three of the 32 fixtures will be played on Friday evening at 20:45 CEST. Nine ties will kick off at 15:30 CEST on Saturday, three at 18:30 CEST, before Würzburger Kickers face Werder Bremen under the floodlights at 20:45 CEST. On Sunday, nine ties will kick off at 15:30 CEST, and the other three will commence at 18:30 CEST. Three ties will be played on Monday, 14th August at 18:30 CEST, before the late-night match between Rostock and Hertha rounds off the first DFB Cup round of the season.
