Clear victory against Kazakhstan

German women's national team celebrated a clear victory in the penultimate European Championship qualifier in Kazakhstan. Already qualified for the final tournament in Sweden the team of coach Silvia Neid won 7-0 (3-0) at Karaganda.

"I'm very pleased," said Neid, "Kazakhstan was well on the defensive. Maybe we could have scored one goal or two more, but basically I've seen a lot of good."

The goals for the seven-time European and two-time world champion in the eighth victory in the ninth group match were scored by Celia Okoyino da Mbabi (8./42.), Viola Odebrecht (33), Anja Mittag (55th), Bianca Schmidt (63), Martina Mueller (86th) and Lena Goessling (87). The final duel follows on Wednesday (from 5 pm) against Turkey in Duisburg.
