CL play-offs: Leverkusen face Klose's Lazio

Bayer Leverkusen will face Miroslav Klose’s Lazio in the Champions League play-off, following today’s draw at UEFA in Nyon. Leverkusen finished fourth behind champions Bayern München, VfL Wolfsburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach and therefore must take part in the final qualifying round before the Champions League proper resumes this season.

The first leg takes place on 18/19th August at the Olympiastadion in Rome, with the return leg the at home in the BayArena the following week on 25/26th August.

Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger will face Club Brugge with his new club Manchester United, whilst Shkrodan Mustafi and Valencia play against AS Monaco.

This season’s final takes place at the San Siro in Milan on 28th May next season.

Europa League: BVB against face Norwegian side in play-off

Borussia Dortmund will play Odd Grenland from Norway, with former Bundesliga player Olivier Occean, in the final knockout game before the Europa League group stage. Thomas Tuchel’s team have the home advantage in the return leg on the 27th August, the week after the first leg in Norway.
