The forward was level with USA midfielder Carli Lloyd with six goals and one assist each, but Šašić had racked them up with fewer minutes on pitch than her American counterpart (Šašić 553 minutes, Lloyd 630). Third place in the scoring charts at the tournament went to Šašić’s teammate Anja Mittag, who netted five goals.
Lloyd, who impressed with a hat-trick against Japan on Monday morning, was awarded with the Golden Ball as Player of the Tournament in Vancouver. Second place went to France midfielder Amadine Henry, with Japan captain Aya Miyama in third.
