Bologna end Juventus' winning streak

Italian champions Juventus have had their impressive winning streak broken, ahead of their Champions League first-leg against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Juve were held to a 0-0 draw by Bologna, who were promoted from Serie B last season. Before the game, the Italian record champions had won their last 15 games in a row.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri rested Sami Khedira and substituted top scorer Paul Dybala 68 minutes into the match. Allegri said a day before the game that he would not risk World Cup winner Khedira, who has only just returned from an adductor muscle injury. It’s crazy to think that he can play 50 games in a season. We can’t take any risks ahead of our match against Bayern,” said Allegri.

By picking up a point against ninth-placed Bologna, Juventus managed to stay top of the table. However, Napoli will be able to overtake them if they win at home against AC Milan on Monday.
