World champion Jérôme Boateng is nearing a return to action. On Monday, the defender completed his first training session with Bayern München since picking up an injury at the end of January. Manager Pep Guardiola, however, erred on the side of caution and claimed he didn't know whether he would be fit in time for the Champions League semi-final clash with Atlético Madrid (27th April and 3rd May).
"I will make my decision based on what I see," said Guardiola: "he has been out for three months. He needs fitness." Boateng picked up a muscular injury against Hamburger SV on January 25th, and has been out ever since.
