Bielefeld lose the derby

Arminia Bielefeld, who were relegated from the second division last season, missed the chance to lead the 3. Liga on Sunday. They lost the derby away to Preußen Münster 3-1 in front of 14,300 spectators.

The visitors lead at the interval through Sebastian Schuppan’s 40th minute goal. The home team fought back in the second-half and equalised through Amaury Bischoff’s penalty just after the hour mark. Further goals from Rogier Krohne (80’) und Marcus Piossek (83’) settled the game in favour of the home side.

Bielefeld remain in fourth place in the league; two points behind SV Wehen Wiesbaden who currently top the league. Rot-Weiß Erfurt and Dynamo Dresden are level in second with 25 points. Münster also have 24 points, but thanks to an inferior goal difference, lie in eighth place.
