Bielefeld and Wolfsburg to kick off round of 16

Defending champions VfL Wolfsburg will face second division side Arminia Bielefeld on the 2nd of December (19:00 CET) to open the Women’s DFB Cup round of 16.

The trio of all Bundesliga encounters will take place on Sunday the 4th of December. Two games will kick off at 11:00 CET, as SC Freiburg come up against Borussia Mönchengladbach and 1. FFC Frankfurt face SGS Essen. In the afternoon (14:00 CET), Bayer Leverkusen will host FF USV Jena, while second division BV Cloppenburg play promoted Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg. On the 3rd of December (13:00 CET), the Champions will be in action, as FC Bayern München lock horns with DJK Arminia Ibbenbüren from the Westfalenliga. Also on this day and at the same time, last year’s finalist’s SC Sand visit second division outfit SV Weinberg.

As the DFB Cup round of 16 will take place parallel to the Women’s U20 World Cup in Papua New Guinea, teams were allowed to play their matches at a later date. Werder Bremen and 1899 Hoffenheim took advantage of this so will face each other on the 21st of December (18:00 CET), as three players from Bremen will take part at the World Cup, while one from Hoffenheim will be at the tournament.
