Bernhard's girls one win from Euros final

Germany’s U17 Women will tonight (21:00 CEST) fight for a place in the final at the European Championship in Iceland. Switzerland are the opponents for Anouschka Bernhard’s team at the Valsvöllur Stadium in Reykjavik.

“This will be an interesting game. The Swiss qualified for the semi-finals by the skin of their teeth. They play good counter-attacking football, we have to remain organised. But we’re looking forward to the duel against our southern neighbours,” says Bernhard about the upcoming opposition.

The Swiss finished their group in first place after a draw against Norway and wins against Ireland and France. Germany had to fight to the end in Group A after a 5-0 win over Iceland but a 4-0 defeat to Spain. The Germans finished the group in second place behind Spain when they convincingly beat England 5-0.

The final takes place on Saturday at 18:00 CEST.
