Bernhard names squad for the newly-formed U17s

The U17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan (25th September to 21st October) is still to be played, and the young players born in 1999 are fighting for a chance to prove themselves in this new age group. Head coach Anouschka Bernhard is firstly gathering players born in 2000 and 2001 for the squad which will take part in the four-nation tournament in Austria. The newly-formed team will face Romania (28th August, 15:00 CEST), Switzerland (30th August, 15:00 CEST) and hosts Austria (1st September, 11:00 CEST) at the Lindabrunn sports school.

However, the squad is not completely new. The U16s team has mainly stayed together. 15 of the 18 players have been in Norway over the past few weeks, taking part in the Nordic Cup. Just Anna Lena Riedel, Janet Stopka and Melissa Kössler are still part of the team on a trial basis.
