Bernhard announces Euro squad

Anouschka Bernhard has announced the German squad for the U17 Women’s European Championship in Iceland (18th June – 5th July). Germany’s coach named 18 players for the tournament, including top scorer Stefanie Sanders, from SV Werder Bremen, and Köln’s Anna Gerhardt, sister of Bundesliga player Yannick Gerhardt. Another nine players were placed on a standby list.

Germany has been placed in Group A, alongside hosts Iceland, Spain and England. The players must meet at the team hotel in Mörfelden by no later than 18.30 CEST on Thursday 18th June. The first point of business will be a preliminary medical.

Before the team leave Frankfurt for the tournament on Friday evening, the team still have to complete training sessions, media events, and even a 90 minute school lesson. The team are expected to arrive in Iceland at 00:05 local time. All other times will be given in the local time.
