DFB Cup holders FC Bayern Munich will face FC Schalke 04 in the quarter finals of the competition, per the draw made after the final round of 16 match. Third league side Sportfreunde Lotte face their biggest challenge yet as they prepare to play host to Borussia Dortmund. There will be an all-Bundesliga clash for Hamburger SV against Borussia Mönchengladbach, while Eintracht Frankfurt have been drawn against 2.Bundesliga team Arminia Bielefeld.
The quarter final matches will be played over Tuesday 28th February and Wednesday 1st March. The subsequent semi finals will then take place on the 25th and 26th April, with the eventual final falling on 27th May 2017, hosted as ever in the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
