Bayern Munich: Müller to miss Schalke match

Treble-winning champions Bayern Munich will have to cope without German international Thomas Müller for a short time. According to a statement from his club, the 24-year-old tore muscle fibres in his right thigh in the 4-0 away win over Hannover 96 on Sunday.

Having scored two goals in that match, Müller now faces five days on the sidelines. According to Bayern and Germany team doctor Dr Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt, he will be able to resume light running training again thereafter. The injury means Müller will be unavailable for Saturday’s upcoming Bundesliga match against Schalke 04 (live on Sky from 18:30 CET).

At present, it remains to be seen whether Thomas Müller will feature in next Wednesday’s international friendly against Chile in Stuttgart (live on ARD from 20:45 CET).
