Ulrike Ballweg has named her squad for the upcoming U16 UEFA Development Tournament. 20 players have been selected for the tournament, which takes place in Portugal in early February. They will play the Netherlands, Scotland and France over the course of the competition.
The squad’s most experienced players are Köln keeper Laura Sieger and Sydney Lohmannvom, who plays in the middle for SC Fürstenfeldbruck. They have both made four appearances for the side each. Lena Lattwein (FG Untere Ill) is the team’s top scorer – she has scored three goals in just two appearances to date. The side have already played two games this year, beating both Denmark and England.
Last year the DFB-Team came second in the competition. They beat both the Netherlands and Scotland but unfortunately lost to eventual winners Spain in a decisive penalty shootout.
